Event Overview Tool – WOC, World Cup and JWOC manuals

It is an important objective of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) to support the organisers of High Level Events in obtaining high quality in organising the events. IOF supports the organisers in different ways. The guidelines, manuals and event advising system are among the most important. The IOF Event Overview Tool will from now on contain the WOC and JWOC manuals and serve as an event management tool for:

  • the event advising team (EA team)
  • the event organizers

The IOF Event Overview Tool outlines a standardised set of functional areas for IOF High Level Foot Orienteering events. Including:

  • The full WOC and JWOC manuals in one document as you know them
  • The chapters of the two manuals shown in a table along with additional material

As of January 2022 an updated and combined WOC/World Cup Manual is available. Also the most recent JWOC manual from 2020 is available. A dedicated manual for the organisation of WOC Clinic is also available below.

Internet Acess: To secure the TV productions needs and transmission of the IOF TV stream from the arena it’s important that the organiser provide a solid internet connection. Please contact Event Presentation Manager Per Frost to get guidance regarding your event. If the stream is produced and handled by organisers, please see the requirements below.

All: To support planning for TV production and maximizing online spectator experience for sprint, these documents can serve as inspiration. With this course in a WRE in October 2021 as example, this sheet shows how the course could be analyzed for TV coverage planning and this presentation shows a course analysis that could be made available for online viewers at the time of closing of the quarantine.
