CX80 MTBO WORLD CUP: Søgaard and Ludvik win Long distance

Camilla Søgaard and Vojtech Ludvik won the CX80 MTBO World Cup long distance on Saturday afternoon in Bulgaria.

In the women’s race, Søgaard took a superb victory – more than two minutes ahead of Marisa Costa (POR), while another Dane, Cæcilie Christoffersen was more than five minutes behind in third place.

Overall World Cup winner, Nikoline Splittorf (DEN) was fourth, while Lou Garcin (FRA) and Ruska Saarela took the subsequent places in the top 6.

In the men’s race, Vojtech Ludvik (CZE) secured his overall World Cup victory by winning today’s long distance, but it was by a much narrower margin.

Fabiano Bettega (ITA) was only 22 seconds slower after 107 minutes in the forest, while yesterday’s sprint winner, Andreas Waldmann (AUT) was only one second further behind.

The rest of the top 6 consisted of Noah Rieder (SUI), Hannes Hnilica (AUT) and Riccardo Rosetto (ITA).

In the U23 World Championships, the men’s medals went to Hannes Hnilica (AUT), Augustin Leclere (FRA) and Antoine Lesquer (FRA), while Lucie Nedomlelova (CZE) took the women’s U23 gold ahead of Silja Yli Hietanen and Siiri Rasimus (both FIN).
