The world’s best orienteers are heading to Sweden this week for the second round of the Orienteering World Cup in the cities of Skara and Lidköping.
Three sprint races await here – first, the Knock-Out Sprint on Thursday in Lidköping with qualification in the morning and finals during the afternoon and evening.
On Saturday, the World Cup moves to Skara, where there is an individual sprint before Sunday afternoon’s sprint relay.
Narrow leads in the standings
The starting field includes 257 participants from 34 countries, all of whom are fighting for points for the 2026 Orienteering World Cup.
After the first round in Switzerland in April, the World Cup is led by Simona Aebersold (SUI) and Tuomas Heikkilä (FIN), both of whom have narrow leads. Norway tops the World Cup team standings after strong performances in Locarno.
