World Orienteering Day surpasses 250 preregistered events

The World Orienteering Day is back for 2022 and more than 250 locations have already been registered as WOD Events in 44 different countries.

All orienteering events within the period May 11-17 can be registered as a part of World Orienteering Day, which is held for the sixth time this year.

Among the goals for WOD is to increase the visibility and accessibility for orienteering to young people and increase the number of participants in both school and club activities.

There’s still time to preregister your event at the World Orienteering Day webpage, where you can find several special offers from WOD’s partners as well.

A number of the big names within orienteering serves as WOD ambassadors this year and shares some of their first memories of orienteering with us.

Two-time WOC medalist Tim Robertson remembers how he drew the course too fast in the beginning  and reigning European champion in sprint relay, Simona Aebersold tells us about the time, she was afraid to find the controls on her own.
