Young orienteering leaders aged 16-25 from 14 different countries are from June 30th to July 7th taking part in the IOF Young Leaders Academy 2023 in Italy. The purpose of the Academy is to support their talent and their competencies on organisation, coaching and development of orienteering using a train-the-trainer methodology. The academy is also about exchanging experiences and making new friends within the global orienteering community.
The academy is organised for the first time in 2023, with several good activities and sessions from the start. It is organised by the IOF Global Development Commission in cooperation and supported by the organisers of 5 Days Italy.
The program consists of several activities, lectures and workshops enabling the participants to improve their personal orienteering, organisation and coaching skills.
It also includes participation in the 5 Days Italy competitions and to support the organisers in different roles/functional areas before or after racing, to gain experience within the organisaiton of one of the largest orienteering events.
The participants include 5 young leaders from Ukraine and the Academy Mentors are:

Participation is financially supported by the IOF and 5 Days Italy in different intervalls based on the IOF Membership Fee groups.
