In this period with the outbreak of the Corona virus (Covid-19) and shutdown/restrictions all over the world, orienteering online has become very popular. A lot of new initiatives have been taken by orienteers around the globe and there are a large number of virtual events popping up. These are by nature international and the IOF would like to help market these and provide a common calendar of events.
The IOF Eventor calendar is now opened for these events during 2020. (It is a temporary initiative and will be evaluated at the end of 2020.) We offer all organisers of virtual online events who want international participation to enter their events in IOF Eventor as “national events”. These are visible in the IOF calendar. The event will only contain contact information to the organiser and a link to their own homepage or instructions for the event. The IOF will not manage registrations, entries or results. (Results can be uploaded as a file after the event if the organiser wants to do so).
There are already online events registered in the IOF Eventor Calendar: eventor.orienteering.org
Anyone with an online orienteering event or tool can request to be added to the IOF Eventor calendar. All events will have the prefix [Online]. The IOF Office has the mandate to make sure the information is correct and that the event is suitable for publishing in the IOF Eventor Calendar.
