The 2025 Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) concluded on a high note in Baselga di Piné, Italy, with Sweden and Switzerland claiming the final relay titles in the men’s and women’s events after a week-long festival of youth sport with 350 athletes from 41 nations.
In the men’s Forest Relay, Sweden’s Hannes Mogensen delivered a thrilling anchor leg to snatch the victory after a late time loss from Switzerland’s Loïc Berger.

Sweden’s team, which also featured Ludwig Rosén and Wilmer Selin, finished in 1:46:09—just two seconds ahead of Switzerland and over two minutes clear of third-place Czechia.
The women’s race saw Switzerland dominate after early favorites Czechia 1 were disqualified. Henriette Radzikowski, Kati Hotz, and anchor Seline Sannwald led the Swiss to a convincing win in 1:50:13, nearly three minutes ahead of Sweden and Czechia’s second team.

With the last competition over, both athletes and organizers can look back on a well-organized Junior World Orienteering Championships in northern Italy.
Czechia topped the medal standings with 3 Gold, 1 Silver, 4 Bronze ahead of Switzerland (2 Gold, 4 Silver) and Sweden (2 Gold, 3 Silver)
Next year’s Junior World Orienteering Championships takes place in Karlskrona in southern Sweden from 29 June – 4 July, 2026.
