The IOF FootO Commission is pleased to invite all elite athletes and national team coaches to an Open Meeting to discuss a number of topics relating to international FootO events.
The meeting is being organised online through Microsoft Teams on Thursday 28th October at 20:00 CEST (UTC +2) by the IOF Foot Orienteering Commission. Please register here by Sunday 24th October, and a link will be shared to those registered before the meeting.
Agenda
- Reflections on 2021 senior international events
- Thoughts on future of senior international events – e.g. calendar / format
- Gender equality – equal winning times and Sprint Relay running order
- Any other business – an opportunity to raise any suggestions or concerns
About the Gender Equality topic
Foot Orienteering is the only IOF discipline which has different winning times for men and women in all Long Distance competitions – should this be changed for the future? Similarly, should the running order for Sprint Relay always be fixed, or should it change? It is important to note that any change at elite level would have large implications for non-elite level as well, both at Junior and Masters level (e.g. at WMOC) and most probably also at national level.
