More than 350 of the world’s best junior orienteers are gathered in Trentino in northern Italy for this year’s Junior World Orienteering Championships next week.
Five distances await here – first the fast disciplines Sprint Relay and Sprint on Saturday and Sunday before the competitions move into the forest from Monday, where the hilly long distance takes place.
After a rest day, there is middle distance on Wednesday and relay on Thursday. All forest races take place in altitude around 1000 meters above sea level in the mountains close to Trento.
All five distances will be produced in a quality broadcast for IOF TV with English commentary by Katherine Bett, Holly Stodgell and Bruno Nazário.
Tickets are 6/30 EUR for one/all races.

Norwegian viewers should go to langrenn.com for the broadcasts with Norwegian commentary by Kjell-Erik Kristiansen.
Thursday’s relays will also be broadcast on CzTV Sport (commentary by Petr Kubasek and David Prozchaska) and in Hungarian TV (Sport TV) with commentary by Miklós Gyulai and Aron Less.
Compared to last year’s JWOC in the Czechia, some of the defending champions are in place in Italy. This applies to Elli Punto (FIN) and Lucie Dittrichova (CZE), who won the Sprint and Long+Middle respectively.
