The Military World Games finished today October 23rd with Relay competitions rounding out the program.
In a closely fought men’s relay Switzerland ended up with the gold medal with the team of Andreas Kyburz, Florian Howald and Matthias Kyburz. Russia with Dmitrii Nakonechnyi, Andrei Khramov and Dmitrii Tcvetkov took the silver medal and France with Nicolas Rio, Frederic Tranchand and Lucas Basset coming home in third place and winning the bronze medal.
In the women’s class it was gold medalists Russia with the strong team of Iuliia Novikova, Svetlana Mironova and Anastasiia Rudnaia finishing ahead of Poland with Agata Olejnik, Hanna Wisniewska and Aleksandra Hornik in silver position and France with Maelle Beauvir, Cecile Foltzer and Issia Basset winning the bronze.
Prior to the medal ceremony for the relays, medals were finally placed around the right winners’ necks for the middle distance competition held on October 20th. The results list was final only earlier in the morning after the withdrawal of the Chinese team from the Event. It was a triple success for Switzerland winning all the medals. And Anastasiia Rudnaia of Russia had a great Event with 3 golds out of the 3 competitions.
