Format
Knockout sprint, including a qualification race in
three heats in the morning where the starting order is
determined by the order of the Sprint World Ranking
as of 26th May 2026 (best ranked starting first).
The 12 best athletes in each heat will be qualified for
the KO-finals. In a case of a tie, all tied runners will

heat. The top 3 from each heat of the quarterfinal and
the top 2 from each heat of the semi-final qualify for
the next round.
For all rounds, the courses may incorporate forking/
splitting systems:

• «Course Choice Model» where each athlete picks
one of three options.
There will be no announcement in advance about
which method is used in which round.

quarterfinals. The heat selection event will take place
on the qualification arena right after the final qualification
results are published. (approx. 11:35).
