In late September, the 2026 Orienteering World Cup reaches its final stage in Druskininkai, Lithuania, where round 4 is held together with the European Orienteering Championships (EOC). As the climax of the World Cup season, the event gathers Europe’s best athletes to compete for both continental titles and overall World Cup standings in the forests of southern Lithuania.
Over several days of competition, athletes will face Long, Middle and Relay disciplines in terrain typical of the Baltic region. The forests around Druskininkai are characterized by subtle micro-relief, mixed vegetation and varying runnability, demanding high precision in navigation combined with strong physical endurance. The Long distance will test route choice and stamina, the Middle distance focuses on fine navigation in detailed terrain, and the Relay will bring fast-paced head-to-head racing to conclude both the championships and the World Cup season.
