In August, the 2026 Orienteering World Cup moves into the forests of southern Czech Republic, where Vyšší Brod hosts round 3 of the series. After two earlier rounds focused on sprint disciplines, the spotlight now turns to the forest specialists in classic Central European terrain near the Austrian border.
Over several days of competition, athletes will face Middle, Long and Relay races in technically demanding landscapes. The area is characterized by a mix of detailed contour features, varying runnability and sections of limited visibility, requiring both precise navigation and strong physical capacity. The Middle distance will challenge fine orienteering skills and control picking, the Long distance will demand smart route choices and endurance, and the Relay will conclude the round with fast-paced head-to-head racing.
