Knock-Out Sprint Qualification stage
The first of four stages of the Knock-Out Sprint are organised as follows:
Qualification stage: There are 3 parallel heats with an interval start. The first 12 placed competitors in each heat will qualify for the quarter-finals.
Arena: Sestri Ponente – Campo sportivo
Map: 1:4000, 2.5 m, June 2026 (ISSprOM 2019-2 version 2024). Mapper Samuele Curzio.

Women: 9 minutes; preliminary length on shortest possible route: 2,2 km
Men: 9 minutes; preliminary length on shortest possible route: 2,4 km
Terrain: The area is located on a hillside and is characterized by residential zones, open spaces and a complex structure with terraces, ramps and stairways, complemented by green areas; it features good visibility and generally high runnability, combined with significant climb and route choice both horizontally and vertically. Hazards include stairs and steep ramps, level changes, limited-visibility corners in multi-level sections, possible traffic on adjacent roads, paved surfaces that may be slippery when wet, and uncrossable features that must be strictly respected.
