The World Cup is based on the current Championships formats in Orienteering; Long Distance, Middle Distance, Relay, Sprint, Knock-out Sprint, Sprint Relay. Starting from 2025 a number of countries will host the The World Cup on an annual or frequently reccuring basis. Switzerland, Sweden and Czechia will be main drivers in enabling at least 3 rounds per year, with the ambition of increase the number of rounds step by step.
