Magdalena Olsson, Sweden leads by 94 points, whilst Norwegian Jørgen Baklid is 158 points in front after winning 5 of the 6 races held. Olsson won the World Cup overall last year – and Baklid has achieved this feat for the last three years!
With 3 races to come in this year’s World Cup, the best 7 results will count in the final standings – with the final race carrying double points.
Olsson’s top placing comes from two wins on successive days in the second-round races just held in Germany. In second place is Daisy Kudre Schnyder, Estonia who won overall in 2022 and 2023. Third is the Norwegian Anna Ulvensøen, who won the Sprint in this latest round.

Baklid’s closest challengers are Jonatan Ståhl, Sweden and the 19-year-old Mass Start winner Pyry Riisanen, Finland – who is the men’s leader in the under-23 World Cup.

The promising Finnish athlete Amanda Yli Futka leads the women’s under-23 list; Finland has three athletes in the top six.

Thanks go to the German round-2 organisers, who battled with poor snow conditions for all three days, with course details being finalized only a day before each race; their efforts resulted in three good competitions in attractive and in parts some demanding terrain, with two excellent arenas.
The final World Cup round doubles with the 2025 European SkiO Championships in Finland in mid-March.
