Sweden’s Sara Hagström has been nominated for the International World Games Association’s 2023 Athlete of the Year award after an impressive year for her.
In October, she won the European Orienteering Championships individual sprint in Verona, Italy and took golds in the relays at both World Championships in Switzerland and European Championships in Italy.
On top of that, she won the World Cup middle distance race in Norway in April and finished second in the overall 2023 Orienteering World Cup, her best result ever.

Sara Hagström is one of 22 candidates nominated for the award and it’s possible to cast your votes once every 24 hours from Wednesday 10th January.
From Monday 22nd January only the 10 highest-ranked candidates at that time will continue in the race, and these candidates will then re-start with 0 votes.
Voting ends on Wednesday 31st January.
