Presentation of 2023 Orienteering World Cup program

We just concluded the second round of the Orienteering World Cup 2021 held in Idre Fjäll, Sweden. Where we were treated to some fantastic events with thrilling head-to-head battles in the forests of the nordic mountains. We are now excited to introduce the schedule for the 2023 edition of the Orienteering World Cup where we hope to continue to provide world-class orienteering experiences to our athletes and fans across the world.

We are in the middle of a successful 2021 World Cup season, marking the return to sports after the cancelled 2020 season. The 2022 season is certainly looking exciting with rounds in Sweden, Estonia and Switzerland. We are now happy and proud to be able to continue the development by presenting a strong and exciting program for 2023. The three organisers are eager to further strengthen quality and attractiveness to our sport. 2023 will be a good year! – Jörgen Hector, IOF Brand manager Orienteering World Cup.

The 2023 season of the world cup will be kicked off in Østfold, Norway in April where we expect runners to have a high running speed and good visibility in the spring forests of Norway. Athletes can expect similar terrains as during the 2019 World Orienteering Championships.

Round two of the world cup will be held during the Czech high summer in the areas of Česká Lípa and Ždírec where the town of Česká Lípa will hold the sprint races and later move into the forests with the iconic sandstone terrains of the region.

As we move into the finals of the world cup, we find ourselves by the beautiful Lake Garda in the Verona area of Italy. An area that many orienteers hold as their favourite sprint terrains with clear Roman architectural features.
