Orienteering World Cup in China offers open competitions

The Orienteering World Cup final round of 2019 will be held in Foshan, China from October 25 to 29. This is the first time a World Cup event will be held in China and the organisers in Guangdong Province are in the stage of final preparations.

There have been a number of enquiries to the IOF and the organisers about the possibility of following the World Cup on site in China and whether there will be any competitions open to the public. The organisers will be organising competitions as a part of the 2019 Guangdong Historical Road Orienteering Championship, a series of orienteering competitions and cultural festivals organised in the Guangdong Province over the past 3 years. The event series has included IOF World Ranking Events each of the past 2 years.

Stage 5 of the Historical Road events will coincide with the Orienteering World Cup in Foshan and will include 3 competitions using the World Cup terrains. Information about the public races, including bulletin and entry form can be found on IOF Eventor under National Event – Guangdong Historical Road Orienteering Championship 26-29 October.
