The IOF Athlete Representatives for the next two-year term will elected in March 2024 and the period for nominations is now open and runs until January 31st, 2024.
The purpose of having athletes representative is to represent the voice and interests of athletes by engaging them in decision-making processes within the IOF organisation and to empower the athletes through the communication of information.
There must be an Athlete Advisory Group (AAG) for each discipline with a minimum of 4 members and a maximum of 6 members, and there is also a requirement that the groups must have members from outside Europe and at least two of each gender.
Athletes who wish to stand for election must be nominated by their member federation (national federation) and comply with certain requirements for participation in international races.
