Due to the current situation, some activities leading up to the Nokian Tyres World Orienteering Championships 2021 in the Czech Republic have changed. The Euromeeting 2020 (Pre-WOC 2021) is postponed and new dates for the Euromeeting will be October 29 to November 1 2020.
Euromeeting 2020
The organizers have published an updated Bulletin 1 for the Euromeeting on the WOC 2021 website, containing more information about the event. The first entry deadline has been moved to August 20, and new entries will need to be made in Eventor. The Euromeeting is the best opportunity for athletes to prepare for WOC 2021 with relevant terrain and maps. The Event Centre and main accommodation for Euromeeting is the same as for WOC 2021. It is situated on the shore of Máchovo jezero (Mácha Lake) in Staré Splavy (part of the town Doksy). It offers great opportunities for to relaxing after the competitions or trainings. The map makers and course setters for Euromeeting are also the same as for WOC.
First training camp
In connection with the Euromeeting, the organizers will prepare the first official WOC 2021 training camp, to be held from October 24 to November 8. During this period there will be plenty of demanding courses set in WOC relevant training areas, some official training sessions with electronic punching and timekeeping (SportIdent) and evening analysis sessions. Some of the training courses offered will be set by the WOC course setters. Teams are free to choose the length of their stay.
