FAQ – IOF LIVE Orienteering

How can I tell which content on IOF Live Orienteering requires payment?

In general, all High-Quality Streaming Productions are offered on a pay-per-view basis. Examples include the World Orienteering Championships, the Orienteering World Cup, and the Jukola and 10-mila relays. Simple streaming productions may be available as linked external content, but these are not products for which the IOF is responsible.

Other basic content, such as live results and GPS tracking (when feasible in relation to fairness), is accessible for free.

-Try the Refresh Arrow!

Every ‘box’ on IOF LIVE Orienteering has a refresh arrow. To ensure you have the latest updates in a box, click the refresh arrow.

On a typical event day, we provide around 10 updates on IOF LIVE Orienteering. However, not all boxes are automatically refreshed in your browser. Why is manual refreshing sometimes necessary? IOF LIVE Orienteering must handle tens of thousands of users simultaneously. To maintain fast response times, we use a content delivery network (CDN). While this offers several advantages, it may also cause some updates to be delayed in your browser.
