Langrenn.com acquires Norwegian TV rights for the entire international season

All the international orienteering races of 2025 will be available to Norwegian viewers with commentary in Norwegian through the digital newssite langrenn.com

That is the result of a new agreement between the International Orienteering Federation and Wsportsmedia, that acquires the exclusive broadcasting rights to the Orienteering World Cup for langrenn.com on the Norwegian market.

The package also includes exclusive rights to the Junior World Championships and shared non-exclusive rights to the World and European Championships.

“We are very pleased with the agreement with Wsportsmedia, which ensures Norwegian viewers high-quality coverage of the entire international season. We are confident that their strong commitment to covering the sport, combined with state-of-the-art TV productions from the biggest events, will increase the interest in top orienteering,” says Henrik Eliasson, CEO of the International Orienteering Federation.

The Norwegian coverage will feature experienced Wsportsmedia sports commentator Kjell-Erik Kristiansen alongside a guest expert.

“This new agreement strengthens our relationship with IOF and orienteering as a sport. Orienteering is like cross-country skiing, a great outdoor sport, and shares many common grounds with Wsportsmedia. It also fits well in the Wsportsmedia year wheel, since orienteering is mostly the opposite calendar than cross-country skiing and Ski Classics. We have been working with IOF media productions for many years, but taking on rights distribution is a new and exciting step! We look forward to deepening our engagement in orienteering, and hopefully, we can, together with IOF, make the sport grow even further in the years ahead,” says David Nilsson, CEO Wsportsmedia AB.

All of the orienteering season’s broadcasts will also be available on the IOF’s own TV platform IOF TV with English commentary. And for the First World Cup Round in Sweden, also in Finnish and German.

This year’s Junior World Orienteering Championships are held in Italy from 28 June to 3 July and the high-quality broadcast from the championships will be produced by IOF’s TV producer Karel Jonak.

In addition to IOF TV and langrenn.com, the forest relay from JWOC will be shown on CzTV (Czechia) and Hungarian TV.
