JWOC 2027 appointed to Poland – Japan will host WMOC 2027

Young orienteers will travel to Poland in three years to race for JWOC-medals, while the slightly older ones set course for Japan and the WMOC races the same year.

It is clear after IOF Council’s meeting on May 3rd, 2024, where several organisers of future international championships were appointed.

It is the fourth time that the Junior World Orienteering Championships take place in Poland. The last JWOC in Poland was in 2011, where Wejherowo hosted the championships.

Poland has a busy schedule organising international races in the coming time, hosting the CX80 MTBO World Cup and EMTBOC in two weeks, EYOC in a month, CX80 World MTBO Championships next year and WMOC in 2026.

The World Masters Orienteering Championships 2027 will be a first for Japan as hosts. The year before, international medals will also be competed for on Japanese soil during the World Ski Orienteering Championships 2026.

During the meeting, Great Britain were chosen to host the World Masters MTB Orienteering Championships in 2026 and the Asian Orienteering Championships the same year were appointed to China.
