The last Event Advisers Clinic in Bulgaria was rewarding for the 9 participants from 5 countries: Turkey, Latvia, Russia, Austria, Bulgaria. Most of participants were from Turkey, the organiser of the European Ski Orienteering Championships 2019.
There were good discussions both for aspiring EA and for the future organisers of the high-level events. Participants had an opportunity to discuss practical organising issues out in the competition arena. The clinic also went through many “best practices”, explaining why these solutions are particularly good. Important rules were explained, and the key elements of a successful event outlined to both organisers and SEA.
The EA instructor, Roland Hellberg, Sweden was pleased with the participants’ efforts and the participants were very satisfied with the clinic.
Prior to the next EA clinic in the US, the course material has been supplemented with the experience from the clinic in Bulgaria, so future participants will be able to learn a lot.
