During its meeting on November 11, IOF Council decided to revise the decision taken regarding the ban on fluorinated waxes and test of a common waxing team at World Cup round 3 in Ski Orienteering.
In October Council agreed to impose a ban on all fluorinated waxes for the coming season and test a system with a mandatory common waxing team during the World Cup round in Norway in February 2023.
Since then, IOF has received several letters from member federations regarding the decision, which has been discussed in the SkiO community as well.
Based on the feedback, Council decided to revise the initiative concerning the test of a common waxing team, so the decision text now reads:
“IOF encourage member federations to ban all fluoride waxes, and to test the idea of a common waxing team in competitions at national level in 2023, especially for youths and juniors.”
With that decision taken, Council approved the proposed changes for the Ski Orienteering Competition Rules.
