IOF appoints Erling Thisted as temporary Communications Officer

Erling Thisted (38) has been hired as temporary Communications Officer in the IOF in a part time position (50%) for the rest of 2022.

Here he will be responsible for the internal and external communication flow, Social Media and he will serve as the IOF Media Adviser at the major events of the year.

Erling comes to the IOF from the Danish Orienteering Federation, where he has overseen the communication for more than six years. He has played a vital role in helping the national teams of Orienteering and MTBO placing their great results in the medias headlines in Denmark.  Furthermore, he is a trained journalist and continues to work at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) with broadcast news and sports in radio.

He has been orienteering since 1990 and has used his communications skills as a speaker at several international and national orienteering events during the last two decades.

IOF’s permanent Communications Officer, Malin Fuhr, is on parental leave for the rest of 2022.
