Estonia takes over WMSOC 2024 in February

The world’s best ski orienteering masters athletes will still get their chance to race for championship medals this year, after the Estonian organisers have taken over the assignment to organise the World Masters Ski Orienteering Championships in conjunction with the World Cup final in late February.

WMSOC was supposed to take place in Italy during 2024 Winter World Masters Games in January, but was cancelled due to lack of snow.

As previously announced, IOF was looking for possibilities to include WMSOC in another event and fortunately the World Cup organisers accepted the task.

IOF’s Council approved the change of organiser at its meeting on Friday January 19th.

The three WMSOC races (sprint, long and middle) will take place from February 23-25 in southern Estonia.
