Nikoline Splittorff, Denmark and André Haga, Finland top the CX80 World Cup standings after the first round, the European Championships just held at Ostróda in northern Poland. Splittorff won two individual gold medals, and Haga one gold and one bronze.

The top six women are from six different nations, whilst in the men’s list there are two Finns and two Czechs in the top six. Splittorff has a good lead of 45 points in the women’s standings, with Ruska Saarela, Finland and Gabriele Andrasiuniene, Lithuania in equal second place, both on 205 points. Haga leads the men’s standings by 12 points, ahead of the Czech rider Vojtech Ludvik, the current leader in the IOF World Rankings.
Finland heads EMTBOC medals list
Giving 3 points for gold, 2 for silver and 1 for bronze, Finland emerges as the best nation points-wise in the EMTBOC with 12 points – 6 medals out of the 18 awarded in total.

The 4 days of competition were all dry with good riding conditions, on challenging courses and with good organization. The next round is at Smiltene, Latvia on 5-6 July.
