Covid-19 – Another update on IOF Event news

The Corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic continues to cause distruption for athletes and organisers around the globe. Here are a few updates regarding IOF events and competitions.

  • The Junior World Orienteering Championships 2020 (JWOC) in Turkey have been postponed from their original date June 28 – July 3. The organisers and the IOF are looking at rescheduling for later in the fall of 2020 including coordination with potential dates for the World Orienteering Championships in Denmark.
  • To ensure the fairness of the World Ranking System, the IOF Council has reached a decision to extend the date for cancellation of all World Ranking Events (WRE) from May 31 to July 31, 2020.  The Council will review the situation again approximately July 1.

The IOF will continue to update information about changes in the event program both for 2020 and for the following years.
